Does your child simply love to sing?
Kids Sing! is a home for 9-12 year-olds who love to sing and want to learn how to use their voices confidently and make new friends who are just like them.
In these 1 hour classes students learn to build vocal range and control, sing expressively and tunefully, and shift between vocal styles, all in a positive space that encourages friendship, belonging and self confidence.
My goal is to fuel the students’ existing passion and give them the confidence to share their voice inside and outside of the studio at this transitional age. Whether it’s putting their hand up for their school rockband, auditioning for a musical or writing and recording their own songs, I want these young people to feel confident sharing their talents and to know that their contribution is valuable.
Class activities will include:
- Singing in a range of styles (pop, musical theatre, folk, jazz and more)
- Vocal techniques to develop singing range, tone, ease and clarity
- Opportunity to perform as a group at our studio Summer and Winter Vocal Showcases
- Singing in harmony
- Musicianship – music reading and sight singing
- Performance skills – acting through song, finding the story in the music
- Challenges, games, kahoots, competitions in person and through the online message group (accessible to students, parents and teachers only)
Does my child need to be an experienced singer to join?
No, there are no prerequisites to join this group except a passion for singing.
This class is all about learning to use your instrument to be the best singer you can be. To quote Jo Estill, “everyone has a beautiful voice, you just have to learn how to use it”
How long is the commitment?
Enrolment is for the school term. If you need to take a break part way through the year, simply communicate your plans in the final week of the current term.
Can I sit in on the class with my child?
Due to space constraints there is only room in the studio for enrolled students and the teacher.
The studio has large transparent glass doors so lessons are visible from the outside.
Parents are invited to wait in the studio waiting room, or outside in their vehicles, and can check in any time.
Can my child try the class before they commit for the term?
Yes, in this instance payment must be made before the second class of the term commences.
Class numbers are limited, with a maximum of 10 places available. Sign up using the form below, and include any questions you have about the class.
