We had two wonderful groups of people attend the two Singing For Non-Singers Workshops in Cambridge on Sunday 23 February.
Attendees came from across the Waikato and Waipa regions, including Cambridge, Hamilton and Te Awamutu. We even had one guest who had arrived in New Zealand from London only the day before – Full disclosure: she did not travel overseas exclusively to attend the workshop! But what a great activity to take part in while visiting family.
Below is some of the feedback from these most recent workshops.
Hi Scot, thank you for the wonderful singing lesson last Sunday. I do believe I can sing. I get around the house singing all the time now.
Just want to tell you how much I enjoyed the workshop on Sunday! It was so much fun, exciting and affirming.
I have to say I was so excited about it that I sang all the way home! and then at church in the evening I opened my mouth and sound DID come out!
Whoever I talk to about your workshop wished that they had gone too! So if you want to do another workshop some time you’ll fill it quickly too.
You have such a gift and are an amazing teacher.
And your partner Kimmy is beautiful and very special too.
I attended the 11.00-2.00 workshop on Sunday and want to thank you so much for your commitment of time and energy. I was very nervous but felt immediately at ease with you and thoroughly enjoyed the day, having lots of fun and gaining confidence to try to sing.
You are a wonderful teacher!
Many thanks Scot for Sunday workshop. I really enjoyed the time I spent with you. I will certainly be going to the Phantom of the Opera to see you!
What is the name of the female choir that is looking for new members?
Just wanted to thank you again for such an awesome time.
My Nan and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun, we learned a lot, and you could really tell how passionate you are about music.
Thank you for your wonderful enthusiasm!
Because of the huge positive response generated by this most recent workshop, I am looking to run another Singing For Non-Singers Workshop later this year – possibly based in Hamilton.
I am also planning to run a group singing workshop aimed at Beginner-Intermediate level singers with some fun themed repertoire to learn across the day in the same upbeat and positive environment.
