That we had an extraordinary calibre of talent was apparent from the first day. We set the bar extremely high for these 28 seven to thirteen year-olds, and they absolutely surpassed our expectations with their passion and hard work. We became a singing, acting, dancing family.
The students worked on singing, choreography, and devised acting scenes related to four musical theatre songs:
- I Do Not Like Green Eggs and Ham from Seussical:The Musical
- It’s The Hard Knock Life from Annie
- You’ve Got To Pick A Pocket or Two from Oliver
- When I Grow Up from Matilda
We are so looking forward to running the summer school programme again next year at our home, The Meteor Theatre. What an incredible privilege to work all week in the largest Black Box Theatre in the Southern Hemishphere!
